Fairtrade Fortnight

In our latest Fairtrade Fortnight, we designed and made our own Fairtrade cereal bars, while learning about where all of the ingredients came from and how they are harvested.

It was quite difficult to think of all the different foods we like and then find the Fairtrade versions of them, but Mrs Oliver helped us to order the correct ingredients!

We decided to make two types of cereal bar, one with honey and one with peanut butter and they were scrummy!

Have a look at our pictures to see how we got on!

As part of our fair trade fortnight we looked at how people in other countries collect water. We went outside with some cups and collected water from puddles, and we all decided that we wouldn't want to have to collect our water this way. We realised that we are very lucky to have running water in our homes. We then looked at some of the ways we could help the people who have to collect their water this way and looked at buying items that were fair trade. This was where the fun came in! We took part in some fair trade chocolate tasting! Once we had tried different types of fair trade chocolate, we wrote about each one, describing the taste, texture and smell.
