In Home 3 the children have had a fantastic year so far, only half a term left and they will be moving to Home 4!
During year 3 the children have studied two main topics including Native Americans, Our Town, we are currently learning all about Stone Age with lots of practical activities!
They will also study the works of our class artist Vincent Van Gogh, our class composer Sergei Prokofiev and our Authors: Dick King-Smith (Autumn Term), Anne Fine (Spring Term) & Michael Foreman (Summer Term).
The children have been working hard on shapes and angles this half term. They have been focusing on right, acute and obtuse angles, lines of symmetry and 2D/3D shapes.
So far we have covered many topics in English such as Mystery and Adventure; Instructions; Reports; Calligrams and Stories with familiar settings. The children have all been working exceptionally hard and created some lovely work of a high standard, especially in their new Perfectly Polished Books.
Our topic this term is Plants. The children have been working hard with their investigation on how plants grow, they discussed the main factors that plants need and then planted their own flowers/cress. We have then been keeping record of the height of our plants and any changes in colour.
