We enjoy learning stories and then acting them out! We have been looking at adventure stories this term.

Before we wrote our Autumn poems, we went on a walk outside with our hats, scarves, coats and gloves on and had a look at what was around us. We looked, listened, felt and smelled everything we could find so that we could include them in our poems!
We have been looking at poems and  before we wrote our poems, we had to look at how we could describe a firework or a bonfire.

So far, in Literacy, we have been looking at stories with familiar settings. We have read The Lion in The Meadow, The Pet Who Flew and The Tiger Who Came to Tea as part of our Literacy focus.

While we were reading these, we were able to spot the settings, the characters, the problems, the solutions and the interesting adjectives that made the story exciting!

We have worked in groups to share ideas and adjectives when describing our own settings and characters. We have also done lots of independent work, including writing our own story endings. All of this will come in really handy when we do our first Big Write!
