In January & February Y5 had the fantastic opportunity to visit Kirkby High School every Wednesday afternoons for Dance lessons. Whilst there, they were taught by the fantastic Miss Hamer who the children how to follow and lead a warm up, how to follow a directed motif, keep time and choreograph an independent motif, all linked to the Spring topic of The Ancient Greeks. In the finished contemporary dance production, the children tell the story of Theseus and the Minotaur; look out for some powerful movements and displays of courage and strength!
In January, Y5 visited Kirkby Leisure Centre where they participated in swimming lessons every afternoon for two weeks. During this time, they all became stronger, more confident and more skilful swimmers. It is SO important for the children to continue to improve their developing skills and stamina so we would really encourage parents/carers to attend swimming sessions at much as possible. Just keep swimming!!

We worked on developing our gross motor skills and incorporating travel and symmetry into a gymnastic sequence
