Reception children enjoyed their trip to the beach. There were lots of sandcastles made and holes dug on a very breezy day! Mrs Murphy made a lovely picnic lunch for the children and all the children had a good time.
Eastcroft in Bloom
Reception children enjoyed making a lovely flower display as part of the annual Eastcroft in Bloom competition. This year the children made a fantastic display based on The Very Hungry Caterpillar story. The children were very proud of the result!
Thank you to everyone who helped raise £217 for Red Nose Day. The children had lots of fun and enjoyed wearing their fun accessories.
We had a wonderful time at the library and gallery. We listened to stories, looked at books, drew and made crocodile teeth and explored all the wonderful interactive displays in the Nick Sharratt exhibition in the gallery. The children were all very well behaved and they all had lots of fun.
We have been exploring the topic of winter. We have explored cold colours, what clothes to wear when it's cold, finding out about Arctic animals and also making lots of penguins, snowmen, polar bears and painting 'cold' pictures. We have also been exploring ice and having lots of fun playing a penguin game.
Our author this term is Eric Carle so we have been enjoying some of his books.
The children had a wonderful time at our Christmas party. There was lots of dancing, games and even a special guest! The children enjoyed their party food so thank you to everyone who contributed some food. We thank you for all your support this term and we hope you all have a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
This week we are taking part in some science experiments. To fit in with Halloween, we made some gloop! We mixed PVA glue and laundry gel. After a good mix, it made some fantastic gloop that the children really enjoyed feeling and playing with. We have also been making 'ghosts' disappear !
We will be looking at the topics of Ourselves, Autumn and Christmas for the rest of the term and our Author of the term is Tony Ross.
