Year 2 have been working really hard in our English Work this year. We have read lots of different stories and also written our own stories with familiar settings.
We have completed a unit on Traditional Tales where we looked at famous different traditional tales and wrote our own versions. We use checklists in our English work to try and make sure we include everything in our writing to make it as good as possible.
Through our topic of castles we have also completed lots of writing including-
-describing a castle
-writing a code of chivalry
-writing about knights armour
We love writing in Year 2 and we have made fantastic progress so far this year.
In English we also do SPAG work (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar), Role Play, handwriting and Comprehension Work. We are developing our skills so we can read different texts and answer lots of questions based on what we have read. We read lots of texts related to special events going on throughout the year and related to our topics.
On World Book Day we started a new area of learning in our English work. We are looking at a book called 'The Lonely Beast' by Chris Judge. All of our English learning is going to come from this book and so far we have wrote a diary as if we are the beast and a poem about Jellyfish! We are trying to guess what type of writing we will do next.
