Thank you!

Alan from the CLC came to help Year 1 make animation with shapes. The children worked in pairs and made their own shape animation videos on I Pads. The children were very enthusiastic and they had a great day with lots of learning!
All the children looked great in their Pudsey and Spotty clothes! We started the day with the Big Morning Move (thank you Miss Gilchrist!) and later watched the duck race which Abigail won! The school raised a magnificent £345 which is incredible! Thank you everyone!!!
This week we have been designing and making levers and sliders. We started by trying out different methods of attaching and joining different materials. We used split pins, treasury tags, masking tape, Sellotape and glue to see which worked best.
We had a fantastic visit from Andy Tooze who read us some of us his amazing poems. We then had a go at writing our own poems about animals and the results were brilliant! Some children were then picked to read their poems out to others. An amazing and fun day!
As part of Power of Reading we have been exploring the book The Robot and the Bluebird by David Lucas.
The children have really enjoyed the book and have been drawing their own robots on our very popular doodle wall!
Our special author this term is Julia Donaldson.
