SATs 2015

SATs 2015

The SATs take place in the week commencing 11th May 2015.  All children will take tests in reading, maths and SPaG (spelling, punctuation and grammar).  Writing is assessed over the year.

  • Please support your child in the lead up to SATs by ensuring that they are in school and on time.
  • Please check with your child the homework and spellings they are given and provide them with a quiet, suitable place to do their homework and learn their spellings.
  • Please ensure that your child is reading for at least 10 minutes a day (they do want to be green on the assertive mentoring system).
  • Please support your child in learning the multiplication and division facts for the times tables up to 12 X 12.  Being secure (and having  quick recall) in their times tables knowledge really does help children in many other areas of maths.

Parent's Meeting

There will be a parent's SATs meeting (held in year 6) at 3:30pm on Tuesday 24th February.  The meeting will inform parents of the relevant information regarding SATs.  Help packs will be provided that contain resources to help your child in maths and literacy. It is important that all parents (and children) attend the meeting.

SATs Revision Sessions

There will be various revision sessions taking place after half term and leading up to SATs week.  Sessions will take place after school; in the Easter break and for 3 Saturday mornings after Easter. All these sessions will be by invitation and if a child is asked to attend then it is essential that they do.

SATs Revision Club

We offer all children the opportunity to stay to SATs revision club on Wednesdays.  The club will start on Wednesday 25th February and all year 6 children are welcomed to attend.
