Our lovely pupils take an active role in leadership within our school by undertaking several roles.
Firstly, we elect four members of Year 6 to make up our Pupil Leadership Team, or P.L.T!
To apply to become a member of the P.L.T, you must firstly be a KS2 monitor. These children demonstrate our core values of a Kirkby Child - honest, resilient, respectful, hardworking, positive attitude, good communicator, aspirational and polite.
Our KS2 monitors are in charge of several roles across the school, such as play leaders, eco-warriors, wellbeing champions and much more.
In October, our Y6 pupils deliver speeches to explain why they should be elected into the P.L.T. Each class then votes for who they would like to represent them, demonstrating the British Value of Democracy.
We also have a school council made up of members of each class, who meet regularly with our P.L.T to discuss how to make further improvements to our lovely school, organise fundraising events and much more.
